Don’t Keep Struggling
You have been struggling for so long and you are ready to move forward. But how do you find a therapist in Colorado? Or a therapist in Texas?
You need someone who sees you fully, walks beside you through the hard parts, and gives you real tools to work with. Because you deserve more than compassion. You deserve to actually feel better.
I'm Melissa Graham, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arvada, CO. I also am licensed and have practiced therapy in Texas for over 15 years. I work with women and young adults whose anxiety has started getting in the way of actually living their lives. My specialties include anxiety, trauma, depression, toxic relationships, and perinatal anxiety.
The people I work with are often some of the most capable, self-aware individuals you will ever meet. They just got caught in a pattern of anxiety, self-criticism, and doubt that has made it harder and harder to trust themselves. Many of them tell me they wish they had come in sooner.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, which is not about thinking positive or pushing through. It is about slowing down the spiral long enough to understand what is actually driving it, and building real tools that work when breathing alone does not. I bring genuine warmth and zero judgment to this work. I am not here to tell you what you are doing wrong. I am here to help you understand why your brain and body have been responding this way, and to work alongside you as you find a different way forward.
In our sessions, we slow things down. We look at the thoughts driving the spiral, the ones that sound like truth but often are not. We look at where avoidance has been keeping you safe and where it has been holding you back.
Over time, clients often find that the spiral becomes easier to notice before it takes over, decision-making starts to feel less terrifying, and they begin to trust themselves again in small and then larger ways.
This is not about becoming someone who never feels anxious. This is about not letting anxiety run your life anymore.
I know it can feel like a big step to call a therapist, but I’ll make it easy. We’ll spend 20-minutes on the phone or virtual call, and I’ll let you know how or if I can help.

Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy in Colorado and Texas
-
Therapy is a space where you work with a trained therapist to understand what is driving your anxiety and build skills to manage it more effectively. If you find yourself caught in thought spirals, struggling to start tasks, feeling physically tense or heavy, or being hard on yourself for not keeping up, those are signs that support could help. You do not need to be in crisis to reach out. Many women seek therapy when they simply feel stuck and want something to change.
-
This varies from person to person and depends on what you are working on. Some clients notice meaningful shifts within a few sessions. Others choose to continue longer as they work through deeper patterns. Melissa will work with you to set goals that make sense for your life, and you will always have a say in the pace and direction of your work together.
-
That is more common than you might think, and it does not mean therapy cannot help you. Sometimes it is about finding the right fit, the right approach, or the right timing. If CBT or a more skills-based approach is something you have not tried, it may feel very different from past experiences. Melissa's clients often share that they felt heard in a way they had not experienced before, which makes the work feel possible.
-
That nervousness is completely normal and does not mean you are not ready. Most people feel some version of it before their first session. Melissa's approach is designed to help you feel safe from the very beginning. You do not have to have the right words or know exactly what you want to work on. Showing up is enough to start.
-
Sessions are 55 to 60 minutes and take place in a safe, nonjudgmental space. We will meet virtually, using a safe private link. You and Melissa will talk about what is going on, identify patterns that are keeping you stuck, and practice tools you can use between sessions. It is collaborative, not prescriptive. You are not there to be fixed. You are there to build something that works for your actual life.

The first step is simply reaching out. You can email Melissa at melissa@grahamwellnesspc.com or send a text to 512-566-4331. You do not have to have it all figured out before you make contact. A conversation is enough to find out if working together makes sense.
